With over 20 years of successfully leading successful initiatives as an Executive Business Operations Advisor, Chief Operating Officer, and Chief Administrative Officer, John is uniquely experienced to identify the barriers between your vision and reality “on the floor”, create a plan to bridge the gaps, and deliver meaningful change so you can achieve your goals.

Prior to consulting, John worked in the health insurance, government contractor, financial, and government sectors where he specialized in guiding and executing multimillion-dollar business initiatives. Through his ability to quickly learn a business and diagnose areas of opportunity, John has successfully rehabilitated and executed strategic initiatives – saving millions, and creating conditions for growth.

Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) Turnaround: Led major (ERP) technology turnaround and implementation. Delivered on time and under $138M budget. Recognized with numerous awards and widely recognized as a national best practice.

Cost Optimization: Executive sponsor of initiative to achieve cost optimization benefits. Set organization on path to achieve $100M net cost savings over ten years by sponsoring post-ERP Benefits Realization program featuring strategic sourcing, vendor payment management, and reform of enterprise processes.

IT Demand Prioritization & Decision-Making Process Implementation:  Sponsor of new IT prioritization and decision-making model. Identified business technology demand prioritization gap and built necessary decision-making process to resolve disparity; resulting in reduced time of demand-to-decision process from weeks or months to just 9 days, avoided creation of new technical portfolio debt, created better alignment with enterprise strategy, compliance, and risk mitigation.

Technology Program Rehabilitation: Led effort to reinvigorate major corporate technology initiative. Established strategic vision and leadership foundation and tactfully removed obstacles. Saved $700-$900k in monthly run rate expense with new direction.

Lending Initiative Startup & Delivery: Led transformative lending program in the financial sector. Oversaw initiative that leveraged investments to stabilize neighborhoods, boost job creation, and increase business development. The lending organization invested $114M through single/multifamily lending, tax credits, small business loan guarantees, and leveraged another $178M in direct investment.

Cost Optimization: Interim CXO and Executive Sponsor of corporate cost optimization initiative. Achieved $9.2M in cost savings and ~$2M in cost avoidance by refining/automating critical business processes and driving business technology simplification.

Asset Sale Assessment & Recommendation: Executive Sponsor of initiative to assess sale options for class of physical assets in government sector. Led team and managed vendors to gather technical engineering and financial data necessary to set course for decision on sale of over $400M in assets.

Interim CXO Excellence: Served as interim CXO over shared service unit. Improved performance by $2.5M favorable to budget and 25% reduction in staff. Submitted a reduced budget from previous year base operations.

Technical Capabilities Execution: Executive Sponsor of initiative that delivered technical broadband capabilities in government sector. Blocked and tackled for a team responsible for deploying broadband internet access across a vast geography while holding large corporate vendor accountable for responsiveness and execution.

Operational Readiness Planning & Execution: Executive Sponsor of cross-divisional operational readiness team. Led team that planned and executed work-from-home program amid COVID-19 pandemic.
